As part of ADVANCE's Nurses Week celebration, we offer readers this special podcast that coincides with our May cover story "The Value of Being an LPN.

In this podcast, ADVANCE associate editor Joe Darrah interviews Deborah Jacobs, LPN, WCC, a rehab unit manager at Village Crest Center for Health and Rehabilitation, New Milford, CT.

Jacobs tells our readers why she decided to pursue a career in nursing and what's kept her working as a practical nurse since 1987.

I know from experience that Deb is terrific at what she does (she even makes a point to tell cab drivers to wash their hands and stay healthy). She's an angelic nurse and wonderful mom.
